Fabrizio Romano: Manchester United ‘to keep’ Amad Diallo amid Newcastle interest | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano said on social media that Manchester United told Amad Diallo’s camp in June there is no intention to sell this summer, and that the club want to keep and trust the winger despite interest from several sides, including Newcastle United.

That stance would make any move to St James’ Park difficult, with the 24-year-old considered part of United’s plans.

Diallo remains a favourite on Wearside after a successful 2022-23 loan at Sunderland.

He scored 14 goals in all competitions as Tony Mowbray’s side reached the Championship play-offs.

Since returning to Manchester, he has gradually established himself as a regular first-team option.

A switch to Newcastle would therefore surprise many Sunderland supporters, but for now United are said to be determined to keep him and have communicated that to his representatives.
