Feyenoord Rotterdam have dismissed head coach Robin Van Persie after a little over a season in charge, despite finishing second in the Eredivisie. The 42-year-old leaves his post.
The club said in a statement on Sunday evening that it would begin the 2026-2027 season with a new head coach, without revealing a name. Van Persie had taken over in February 2025.
Feyenoord ended the campaign behind PSV, and the gap to the champions was 19 points.
In the Europa League they did not progress from the league phase, finishing 29th with two wins and six defeats.
This was Van Persie’s second senior job after Heerenveen, where he also struggled to convince. An academy graduate who ended his playing career at Feyenoord in 2019, the former Arsenal and Manchester United forward has yet to make his mark in management.
