Inter Milan travel away from home as they face Fiorentina in their next Serie A match on Sunday before the final international break of the season starts.
Inter Milan remain on top of the table with 68 points from 29 matches ,while Fiorentina are struggling near the relegation zone and are positioned on 16th spot, just one point above the relegation zone.
Niccolò Fortini (muscle, doubtful), Luca Lezzerini (thigh, out until early April), Manor Solomon (thigh, doubtful), and Tariq Lamptey (knee, long-term), are all sidelined with injuries.
Moise Kean has overcome a shin issue recently and started in their recent conference league encounter, joining Albert Gudmundsson in attack.
Roberto Piccoli might drop to the bench if Kean starts although his recent performance might make it hard for Kean to come straight into the lineup.
Captain Lautaro Martínez remains sidelined with a calf injury, targeting a return against Roma at Easter, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out until early April with a hamstring issue.
Alessandro Bastoni is doubtful due to a persistent shin/knee injury, having left training early, with Carlos Augusto likely filling in at left centre-back. Chivu is suspended, adding pressure on assistants.
Hakan Calhanoglu is back in the starting lineup after recovery, partnering Nicolò Barella and Piotr Zielinski in midfield.
Up front, Marcus Thuram and promising youngster Francesco Pio Esposito are expected to lead the attack.
Fiorentina are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions and their recent win against Rakow Czestochowa (2-1) which helped them progress to the quarter finals of the Conference League have boosted their morale.
Their most recent league encounter was a convincing 4-1 away win against Cremonese.
Inter Milan’s recent form reveals struggles: just one win in the last five across competitions. In their most recent encounter, they drew 1-1 against Atalanta.
Before that, they lost to city rivals AC Milan in the derby. Although they still lead by a healthy margin in the Serie A table, Cristian Chivu’s men will certainly look to avoid any slip ups let the lead reduce any further.
Fiorentina: De Gea; Dodo, Pongracic, Ranieri, Gosens; Mandragora, Fagioli; Parisi, Brescianini, Gudmundsson; Kean
Inter Milan: Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Augusto; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Thuram, Esposito
