Flamengo have offered Erick Pulgar a pay rise and a one-year contract extension, but the midfielder has tabled a counterproposal. GE reports the new terms would run to the end of 2028 with improved wages.

Clubs abroad are monitoring the Chile international. From July, his release clause fell to four million euros, meaning any suitor could agree terms with the player and pay that sum to Flamengo.

The initial offer did not meet Pulgar’s expectations, so he has sent a counterproposal and is awaiting the club’s response.

Pulgar extended his deal in March 2025 to the end of 2027, having previously been contracted only until July this year.

Teams in Saudi Arabia and the United States have shown willingness to trigger the clause, yet there are currently no proposals on the table for the midfielder.

Signed from Fiorentina in July 2022 for two point eight million euros, around 14.96 million reais, he has made 159 appearances with five goals and nine assists.

His honours include two Copas do Brasil, two Libertadores, one Brasileirão, one Supercopa do Brasil and three Cariocas, and he is regarded as one of Leonardo Jardim’s trusted leaders.
