On 28 March, Valencia supporters mark 55 years since José Vicente Forment's goal that drove the 1970-71 title push, honoured again by the traca that bears his name. According to Superdeporte, the ritual remains part of the club's collective memory.

Scored at a packed Mestalla against RC Celta de Vigo, the homegrown forward's strike mattered in a campaign contested with FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid. It settled more than a match, it set Valencia on the road back to the summit of Spanish football.

The traca was not born then, it was revived in 2018 when writer Rafa Lahuerta set out to bring back stadium tracas. The first edition was almost private, around 12 people gathered with Forment and his wife to remember that moment.

In 2019 Ultimes Vesprades a Mestalla, UVAM, took over and the event grew with bigger crowds, media attention and firmer structure. The pandemic paused it in 2020, in 2021 a small group of supporters and ex-players took the tribute to Forment's home.

This year's 55th anniversary programme is open to all, with an opening presentation and a speech recalling 1971. Forment will receive a commemorative illustration by designer Arturo Marzar, while Francisco Fran of La Gran Esperanza Blanca will perform "Sarrià 71".

For many, the traca has become a statement of identity, linking eras and celebrating heroes. In a delicate spell for the club, it is a reminder of what Valencia have been and could be again.
