After working at Liverpool for one season under Arne Slot, Fabian Otte has switched Premier League clubs to join Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur. The 34-year-old, formerly of Borussia Mönchengladbach and the USMNT, is Spurs’ new First Team Goalkeeper Coach.
Otte will be assisted by Dean Brill, who is appointed as the club’s First Team Assistant Goalkeeping Coach having previously worked as Head of Academy Goalkeeping.
During his young career, Otte has worked with Yann Sommer and Alisson, and will now work alongside Guglielmo Vicario. Speaking to RP Online in 2022, Otte said: “For me, coaching is a learning experience. Of course, there are former professionals who become successful coaches. But many top-level coaches weren’t the greatest footballers; they gained experience over the years.”
As well as appointing a German native, Tottenham have also turned to the Bundesliga. After just over one year in Germany, Scotsman Cameron Campbell joins Frank at Tottenham as the club’s First Team Individual Development Coach. Campbell’s departure at RB Leipzig is one of several at the Saxony club following a restructure behind the scenes.
