Liverpool Eye Salah Succession as Bowen Talk Grows

Owen Makes Case for Bowen

Liverpool’s post Salah era has begun with emotion, uncertainty and a familiar demand for decisive recruitment. Mohamed Salah’s farewell at Anfield closed one of the club’s great modern chapters, eight major trophies, two Premier League titles and a Champions League crown forming the glittering backdrop to his departure.

Now Liverpool must replace not only goals, but presence, durability and menace from the right flank. Michael Owen believes Jarrod Bowen could be that man.

Speaking after West Ham’s relegation despite their 3-0 win over Leeds, Owen told Premier League Productions: ‘Under normal circumstances, no. But he is such a West Ham lad, he’s the captain, he’s adored by the club, his family are all from the area.

‘If there’s any big player that is going to be relegated and stick with it then you can see it.

‘However, Jarrod Bowen is incredible, you’ve got a short career, I mean he has to be playing in the Premier League.

‘I don’t make any apologies, Mo Salah has gone now from Liverpool, I think Bowen is the absolute perfect replacement for Mo Salah at Liverpool.’

Salah Void Demands Certainty

For Liverpool, this is no ordinary transfer question. Salah was a force of rhythm and ruthlessness, a player who altered matches and seasons. Arne Slot’s side need a forward with Premier League experience, tactical intelligence and the nerve to embrace expectation.

Bowen offers much of that. Direct, industrious and technically sharp, he has carried West Ham responsibility before. Yet leaving as captain after relegation would be emotionally loaded.

Defoe Warns of Difficult Summer

Jermain Defoe believes Bowen faces a defining period, saying: ‘I think for Jarrod Bowen, for him, I think West Ham fans have to understand if he wants to go and play football,’

He added: ‘It will probably be the worst summer for him ever and he’s going to have to consider his future now.’

Liverpool’s task is clear. Salah leaves a legacy, not merely a vacancy. Bowen may not replicate the Egyptian’s legend, but he has the tools to begin the next story.
