Former Real Madrid youngster admits he would love to return | OneFootball

A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has hinted that he would jump at the opportunity to return down the line.

The player in question? Fabinho.

Unbeknownst to many, veteran midfielder Fabinho spent one of the early years of his career plying his trade on the books of Real Madrid. After initially lining out for Los Blancos at reserve level, the Brazilian later managed a solitary La Liga appearance, late in the 2012/13 season.

From here, he linked up with AS Monaco in search of more consistent senior playing time, before developing into one of world football’s finest in his role.

Fabinho has spent the last couple of seasons lining out in the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Ittihad.

Back on the radar of fans across the globe owing to his inclusion in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad at the World Cup, though, the 32-year-old was this week drawn on the prospect of a move back to Europe.

Specifically, speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Fabinho was asked if he would be interested in reuniting with Real Madrid.

And the ex-Liverpool standout went on to admit:

“Would I like to return to Real Madrid? Who wouldn’t like being at Real Madrid? It’s the best club in the world.”
