Former Wolves winger Will Randall retired at 28 last summer despite non-league offers. He is launching an online performance coaching venture for men, focused on physical fitness and mental wellbeing.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, he did not stop because of injury or pride, he felt it was the right moment after over 10 years living his childhood dream.
Randall joined Swindon’s academy at seven and debuted at 17 and one day against Rotherham in League One. Interest from Bournemouth later complicated contract talks.
He moved to Wolves in January 2016 at 18, joining the Under-23s. He trained with the first team, but loans did not click and Fosun’s arrival reduced opportunities.
Leaving in summer 2019, he rebuilt at Sutton United, winning National League promotion and reaching Wembley, a 4-2 defeat to Rotherham in the EFL Trophy, where he assisted Donovan Wilson.
A stint at Notts County followed before further non-league football, taking him beyond 200 appearances and 18 goals, then the decision to step away.
He says he wanted to choose happiness, recognising football’s short, often turbulent nature and that another plan would soon have been needed anyway.
The new path grew from staying active after retiring, applying lessons in diet, nutrition and conditioning to help others, with former Wolves team-mates urging him to go public.
Now back in Swindon, he is taking clients and hopes to help former players adjusting to life after football as well as those outside the game, saying that aiding one person would feel like success.
