Wolves are set to sign former England international Kieran Trippier following his release from Newcastle United, with a verbal two-year agreement in place, according to ExpressAndStar.com. The full-back is out of contract this summer and had interest from Premier League and Saudi Pro League clubs.

The club are also eyeing further free agents as they assemble a squad aimed at an automatic Premier League return. Here are four options who could fit.

Dennis Cirkin, the Sunderland left-back, was linked with Wolves last summer after starring in their Championship play-off triumph. Injury problems and a loss of favour followed as Sunderland qualified for Europe, and he is out of contract.

At Burnley, Axel Tuanzebe started 14 Premier League games last season after arriving on a one-year deal from Ipswich Town. He helped Ipswich win promotion in 2024/25 and made 22 appearances the following campaign, and would be available if Burnley do not extend.

Solly March has left Brighton after more than 300 appearances across 14 seasons. At 31, injuries have interrupted him but Premier League clubs are already interested, and his experience could still offer real quality in the Championship.

Midfielder Josh Laurent is another out-of-contract Burnley player with extensive Championship pedigree. The versatile 31-year-old was influential in their promotion two seasons ago, featured heavily in the top flight and will no doubt be in demand this summer.
