Wolves are weighing further free-transfer options after news that Kieran Trippier is set to join following his Newcastle United exit. Supporters were taken aback last week. The club are looking to build a squad to push for an automatic Premier League return.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the former Atletico Madrid and Spurs full-back has a verbal agreement on a two-year deal, despite competition from Premier League and Saudi Pro League clubs.

Dennis Cirkin, previously linked with Wolves, starred in Sunderland's play-off triumph, but injuries and a loss of favour followed as the Black Cats qualified for Europe last season. Out of contract this summer, the left-back's Championship know-how could appeal after spending his senior career at Sunderland.

Axel Tuanzebe, 28, made 14 Premier League starts for Burnley last season after a one-year move from Ipswich Town. A promotion winner with the Tractor Boys in 2024/25, then a 22-appearance contributor the following campaign, he could be available if no new deal arrives at Turf Moor.

Solly March's Brighton exit was confirmed last week after more than 300 appearances across 14 seasons. At 31 he has battled injuries but retains top-flight pedigree, and there is already Premier League interest. He could still provide quality in the Championship.

Burnley midfielder Josh Laurent, 31, is also out of contract. The versatile player was huge in Burnley's promotion two seasons ago, featured heavily in the Premier League and will no doubt attract interest this summer.
