Wolves were deservedly beaten 3-0 at Brighton, undone by two early goals and a late third. The visitors offered little going the other way in another sobering afternoon.
The opener arrived after 35 seconds and a second followed inside five minutes, with defending embarrassing in both moments. Brighton then created further chances to stretch the lead before the interval. ExpressAndStar.com notes that chants against Fosun began after the second goal, and boos met both half-time and full-time.
Wolves recovered somewhat yet rarely convinced. They posted zero xG in the first half, a worrying statistic. The second period began brighter as Yerson Mosquera and Hwang Hee-chan had chances that should have been converted.
Beyond that brief spell there was next to nothing, and a late third sealed it. The substitutes made little impact.
The travelling support chose gallows humour, singing about former favourites from better times including Nuno Espirito Santo, Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez and Joao Moutinho.
Before kick-off, Joao Gomes went to the sole Wolves mascot and handed over his training jacket, a small gesture that underlined his character despite him being likely to leave this summer. The away end again travelled in numbers for the long trip to the south coast.
