FRANCE BEATEN, A TOUGH NIGHT FOR MIKE AND THEO

It was a tough night for Mike Maignan and Theo Hernández in the UEFA Nations League semi-final clash between Spain and France, with the Spaniards running out 5-4 winners in Stuttgart. In a game full of goals and chances, the AC Milan goalkeeper wasn’t able to make much of an impact. His only real standout moment came with a perfectly timed sliding tackle on Lamine Yamal. On the left flank, Theo was one of France's liveliest players. He pushed forward constantly and provided a real threat for Les Bleus, and he wasn't afraid to have a go at goal either. Indeed, in the twelfth minute, he came close with an effort that came off the bar. While he had a few shaky moments defensively, he made up for it with energy and drive throughout the match. France will return to action at 15:00 CEST on Sunday 8 June, when they'll face Germany in the third-place play-off in Stuttgart.
