The inaugural UEFA Women's Europa Cup involved 43 teams starting with the first qualifying round in early September. 16 teams are now left in Europe’s secondary competition for women's football, with the tournament format consisting of two-legged ties until the very end.
The draw was made today for the entire bracket. The only Frauen-Bundesliga representative, Eintracht Frankfurt, will face PSV in the Round of 16, with the first-leg scheduled to be played away from home. The winners of that tie will meet either Nordsjælland or Mura in the quarter-finals.
If they get past the two rounds, Frankfurt’s semi-final bracket includes Häcken, Inter, Breidablik, and Fortuna Hjørring. Glasgow City, Sporting CP, Ajax, Hammarby, Sparta Praha, Young Boys, Anderlecht, and Austria Wien are the eight teams that will compete for the other spot in the final.
Frankfurt beat Slovácko 5-0 on aggregate in the final qualifying round. After a comfortable 4-0 win in the home leg, Niko Arnautis’ side completed the job in Czechia. Amanda Ilestedt scored the only goal with a powerful header from Erëleta Memeti’s corner-kick on Tuesday night.
PSV knocked out FC Minsk of Belarus in the second qualifying round to reach the Round of 16 in European competition for the very first time. Their Eredivisie Vrouwen rivals Ajax signed PSV’s top-scorer Joëlle Smits in the summer, but the Swiss international Riola Xhemaili leads the scoring chart with 7 goals from the first five rounds.
The Round of 16 ties will be played in November. However, there will be a long break after that as the quarter-finals are arranged for February 2026.
