Corinthians took the Copa das Campeãs final to extra time but were beaten by Arsenal in London, with Brazil internationals Gabriel Magalhães and Gabriel Martinelli watching from an Emirates Stadium box.
According to Meu Timao, the Arsenal pair attended the match and were given scarves featuring both clubs’ symbols.
The Brabas spent two weeks in the city during the competition. In the semi-final, Corinthians beat Gotham FC 1-0, the current champions of the United States and Concacaf.
In the decider, Arsenal, Champions League winners, clinched the title by finding a third goal for 3-2.
Gabriel Martinelli, now an Arsenal forward, previously came through Corinthians’ youth set-up. He joined Parque São Jorge in 2008, spending about seven years across pitch and court before moving to Ituano.
Gabriel Magalhães has never played for Corinthians but has not hidden his affection for the club. He has been seen among Gaviões da Fiel in the stands at Neo Química Arena on other occasions.
