Arthur Vermeeren (20) is falling out of favour at Olympique de Marseille. The Belgian joined the Ligue 1 side on loan from RB Leipzig at the start of the season and quickly managed to earn the trust of Roberto De Zerbi.
The loan included a buy option that, even just a month ago, OM looked likely to trigger, with directors publicly stating their happiness with Vermeeren’s performances. However, suddenly, he has started to feature less regularly, and the arrival of Quinten Timber earlier this month will further limit his minutes.
It is within this context that Galatasaray are targeting a move for the Belgium international, as per a report from Foot Mercato. However, the deal is complicated as it would require an agreement between all three clubs (OM, Leipzig, and Galatasaray), as the player is still under contract at the Bundesliga club. Franck Kessie is also on the Turkish club’s shortlist.
