Galatasaray ‘to target’ Marseille’s Arthur Vermeeren in complex three-club deal

Foot Mercato reports that Galatasaray are targeting a move for Marseille midfielder Arthur Vermeeren, 20, after a recent drop in game time.

The Belgium international joined on loan from RB Leipzig at the start of the season and quickly earned Roberto De Zerbi’s trust. The loan includes a buy option that Marseille looked likely to trigger a month ago, with directors publicly expressing satisfaction with his displays.

His involvement has since reduced, and the arrival of Quinten Timber earlier this month will further limit his minutes.

Any switch would be complicated, requiring agreement between Marseille, RB Leipzig and Galatasaray, since Vermeeren remains contracted to the Bundesliga club.
