Gaviões da Fiel pay tribute to Deives, Corinthians Futsal legend

On the night of last Tuesday (9), Corinthians Futsal faced Jaraguá in the first leg of the grand final of the National Futsal League (LNF). The pivot Deives, who played his farewell match at the Wlamir Marques Gymnasium, was honored by the Gaviões da Fiel with a plaque.

In return for the tribute, which he received after the final whistle, Deives gave the jersey he wore during the 40 minutes to the organized supporters group. Immediately, the president of the group, Alê, stated that the shirt would go into the fans' collection.

At the beginning of the season, the number 10 announced that he would retire from the sport at the end of the year. Even with ups and downs, as well as backstage problems, Corinthians managed to reach two finals and now has a chance to win the LNF in Deives' last game for the club.

The Wlamir Marques Gymnasium was packed to witness the draw between Corinthians and Jaraguá, which featured a goal by Deives. After taking the penalty, the ‘Baixinho Bom de Bola’ was moved and embraced by his teammates. The goal also marked Timão's comeback in the match.

Now, the teams will face each other in the second leg of the National League final next Saturday, at 7pm (Brasília time), at Arena Jaraguá. In the first phase, the team from Santa Catarina finished fourth, while Corinthians had the sixth-best campaign.
