Grêmio beat Atlético Mineiro 2-1 at the Arena do Grêmio to rise from 13th to 8th in the Brasileirão, sealed by Marlon's strike after the visitors had Natanael sent off.

Natanael was sent off in the 17th minute after a VAR review upgraded his card, leaving Galo to play with ten.

After the restart, Erick Noriega headed in from Marlon's cross following a corner (51.) to put Tricolor Gaúcho ahead. Victor Hugo levelled from Everson's long pass (56.).

Marlon restored the lead with a left-foot finish into the top right (66.), converting Noriega's assist.

Everson kept Galo in the game with sharp stops, twice denying Cristian Pavón from range. Weverton later parried a drive from Dudu as the visitors chased an equaliser.

Tricolor Gaúcho controlled the ball with 63.2% possession and produced 18 attempts, seven on target. Galo mustered eight attempts, two on target.

Next, Tricolor Gaúcho host Internacional in the Gaúcho final first leg. Galo visit América MG in the Mineiro semi-finals second leg.
