Grêmio weigh bids for Ronald as Goiás and Atlético-GO seek loan | OneFootball

Back from loan, Grêmio midfielder Ronald has drawn fresh interest. The club have received loan offers from Goiás and Atlético-GO, where he spent the past six months in Série B, and the board are assessing them.

According to Globo.com, Sport are also expected to submit a proposal after recently checking on the 22-year-old, while Série A sides have made enquiries without progress.

An academy graduate, Ronald is under contract until the end of 2027. Behind the scenes he is viewed as a potential deal and his exit should not be made difficult, with the new hierarchy aiming to trim wages and a 37-man squad in December.

His move to Atlético-GO was only confirmed in August, after the current regime had allowed him to seek opportunities elsewhere early in the year. In the interim he made 12 appearances under Mano Menezes, the best run of his career, and even filled in at right-back.

Two offers arrived at the start of the year, from Everton of Chile and Górnik Zabrze of Poland. The first did not appeal as he intends to live in Europe, and the second stalled as it did not meet Grêmio’s terms.

Ronald expects to complete his Polish citizenship process by year-end, which would ease a move there. He would not count as a foreign player in Poland.
