Pep Guardiola is expecting a difficult clash against Bournemouth tomorrow as Manchester City bid to keep their title dream alive.
City travel to the south coast to take on a Bournemouth side still aiming for European qualification. The Cherries sit sixth in the Premier League table and can move within a point of the Champions League places with a win.
For City, the game is of great importance. Should Arsenal beat Burnley this evening, the Cityzens will head into the game knowing anything but a win will end their title hopes.
Speaking to the media today, Guardiola said he is expecting a tough test against a Bournemouth team with plenty to play for.
“It’s always difficult [against Bournemouth], it always has been,” he said. “Last season it was one of our worst performances in the Premier League. And when we played in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last season, we played really good, so we’ll see which phase we can do tomorrow.
“We’ve had three days [since the FA Cup final]. They’ve had 10 days to prepare for the game and they play to qualify for the Champions League, so I think they have an argument to be the best version of Bournemouth, and I’m pretty sure that’s going to happen.”
