Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney is an early mover, with the 23-year-old understood to prefer Everton. According to NY Times, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are interested, while Manchester United like him but he is lower on their list. Talks have yet to begin.

Everton could offer starts, a factor in his choice. Hackney was Boro’s creative hub, with quick feet, range of pass and 35.7 touches in the attacking third per 90, the most among Championship players with 900+ minutes. He is press-resistant.

Expectation is that Morgan Rogers could leave Aston Villa, though senior figures want to keep him and he has five years left. Interest is expected, and sales are needed to meet financial restrictions. A 20 percent Middlesbrough sell-on may complicate any price.

Arsenal are prioritising a left winger, with a 6/8 midfielder and both full-back roles also under review. Arteta wants more match-winning quality. Arsenal will complete Piero Hincapie’s move for €52m, including a 10 percent sell-on, with five-year terms and accounting aligned to the prior loan.

Targets tracked include Morgan Rogers, Bradley Barcola, Eli Junior Kroupi and Mika Godts, plus right-backs Tino Livramento and Ivan Fresneda, and defender Castello Lukeba. Potential exits include Gabriel Jesus, priced up to £20m, with decisions due on Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Further movement to watch: Bournemouth winger Rayan has a £130m clause active from January, not this summer. Nicolo Tresoldi is attracting Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Aston Villa after 23 goals. Karim Adeyemi is open to a Premier League move.
