MLS is known for high-scoring affairs year on year, and tonight was no different as Matchday 33 delivered yet another goal fest for fans and neutrals alike.
But this time, things were just a little bit different. Tonight, we witnessed history in the making.
High-scoring affairs in Atlanta, Charlotte, and San Jose produced a first in league history after LAFC's Denis Bouanga, Columbus star Diego Rossi, Charlotte youngster Idan Toklomati, and Vancouver's new favorite man Thomas MĂĽller - on his birthday - all secured hat tricks en route to pushing their clubs to three-point hauls.
And with that, it was the first time that four players completed a three-goal performance on the same day of action.
It could not have come at a more critical time for all clubs involved, too, with Charlotte making it nine wins from nine as they surge in the East, while Columbus and LAFC got back to winning ways as they look to secure a place in the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs.
History made! 🤯 For the first time in MLS history, there were FOUR hat tricks in one matchday. –Â
Vancouver's 7-0 win over a hapless Philadelphia Union will go down as the result of the night, and perhaps, one of the key results of the entire campaign.
Say what you will, but we are always entertained.
