Oliver Glasner’s side face their toughest European challenge yet
Crystal Palace take on Fiorentina in the first leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final tonight.
Oliver Glasner’s Eagles have underwhelmed in this competition so far, sneaking past Zrinjski Mostar and AEK Larnaca in their play-off and last 16 ties.
The south Londoners needed extra time to overcome Larnaca, who went down to nine men in their second leg, as Ismaila Sarr struck the winner on 99 minutes.
Now, they welcome experienced veterans of this tournament, Fiorentina, to Selhurst Park.
The Serie A outfit reached the final in the Conference League’s first two editions in 2022/23 and 2023/24, and they were knocked out in the semi-finals last season.
West Ham famously beat them in 2023, before Olympiacos overcame them in 2024.
Last year, it was Chelsea who went on to win it, after Real Betis had knocked La Viola out in the last four.
This time, the Italians are out to finally inscribe their name on the trophy.
They sit 15th in the Italian top flight, and they have also flattered to deceive in Europe, scraping through against Rakow in the last 16 with two scrappy 2-1 victories, as well as needing a play-off to reach the knockout stages proper.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports 3, with coverage starting at 7pm BST ahead of the 8pm BST kick off.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the HBO Max app and website.
