HSV part company with Dompé after shift in sporting plans | OneFootball

HSV have decided to part company with Jean-Luc Dompé, with directors Claus Costa and Kathleen Krüger confirming the move.

According to BuLi News, the 30-year-old Frenchman still has a year left on his contract at the Bundesliga side.

Costa said the club and Dompé owe each other a great deal after recent years, but his sporting situation shifted during the second half of last season.

After consulting the coaching staff, he concluded that Dompé no longer has a place in HSV’s plans for the coming campaign.

Krüger maintained the decision was taken solely for sporting reasons.

Dompé has made 113 appearances for HSV since joining from Zulte Waregem in 2022, and was fined a club-record six-figure sum for disciplinary reasons a few months ago.
