Jordan Campbell’s report states: “(Jeremy Doku) has been talking a lot lately with Erling Haaland to establish an unspoken code in which the type of delivery and corresponding movement required is understood for every crossing situation.”

If Doku and Haaland can gel as a combination, they’ll be a lethal weapon for Manchester City.

The fact that Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland are working together to strike up a better understanding is good news for Manchester City. On paper, their games do appear ideally suited to playing together. Doku excels at beating a full-back in one-on-one situations. Doku’s ability to beat a man with his pace and trickery gives him space to pick out a teammate or progress into a dangerous position in the box. What lets Doku down at times is his end product and decision-making. Erling Haaland, at times, doesn’t provide the movement Doku needs to prosper. If they can get on the same wavelength, Manchester City will greatly benefit. The pair should combine for more goals and more goal-scoring opportunities.

Working together at training should benefit both Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku. Their games should mesh together on the pitch. But so far, Doku has only provided one assist for Haaland. That number is too low. It actually defies logic. But it seems that they are working to change this fact. The hope is that they can combine more often on the pitch.
