According to Nice-Matin, OGC Nice will not change hands for now, with Ineos to remain at the helm after talks with an Anglo-Saxon buyer collapsed. The owner decided on Friday to proceed under existing control, and preparations for next season are under way.

The club will plan as if no takeover will occur in the short term, a scenario now considered the most likely.

Maurice Cohen remains in operational control of the club. The Frenchman Geoffrey Moncada, contracted to AC Milan until 30 June, is still expected in the coming weeks to lead the sporting department.

A name is now emerging to succeed Claude Puel, who will leave his position.

Liam Rosenior was approached and declined. Laurent Bonadei, currently on the France women's national team bench, has been proposed. At this stage Olivier Pantaloni appears the favourite, with other options such as Sébastien Pocognoli still under review.
