Inter ‘agree in principle’ personal terms with Lazio goalkeeper Provedel | OneFootball

According to Football Italia, Inter have an agreement in principle on personal terms with Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel.

The proposed contract is for three years with wages below €1.5m per season. The 32-year-old will enter the final year of his deal this summer.

Inter are in the market for a new goalkeeper, with 37-year-old Yann Sommer leaving when his contract expires later this month.

There had been strong links to Tottenham and Italy goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as a potential first-choice, though a cheaper route would be to promote understudy Josep Martinez and sign a second-choice.

Provedel fits that plan with extensive Serie A experience and as a former winner of the league’s goalkeeper of the year award. His agent was seen at Inter’s headquarters on Wednesday.

Inter must now reach agreement with Lazio on the transfer fee, with a figure of around €5m mentioned.
