Despite making his touchline debut in the Champions League earlier this month, Cristian Chivu has quickly adapted to the pressures of European football.

Indeed, Inter have gone from strength to strength in their first two continental fixtures.

Marcus Thuram scored a double in a 2-0 win at Ajax on the opening matchday.

Then, Lautaro Martinez bagged a brace of his own to inspire the Nerazzurri to a comprehensive victory over Slavia Prague.

Furthermore, Chivu made numerous changes to his starting lineup yesterday.

He changed seven players compared to the Serie A game against Cagliari last weekend, handing Piotr Zielinski his first start of the season.

Meanwhile, Yann Sommer returned between the sticks at the expense of Josep Martinez.

However, multiple personnel changes did not affect the team’s performance.

“You always come across as calm and serene in interviews, but on the pitch, you show so much conviction and grit,” Chivu insisted.

“I put my passion into it, but I can remain calm and serene because they make it easy for me,” the Romanian coach added.

“They work hard, show focus, determination, and attention to doing things right.

“This is a team of good men who give everything every day.

“When that’s the case, a coach can only be happy,” Chivu concluded.

After two consecutive defeats to Udinese and Juventus, Inter are seemingly back on track.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri have won four games in a row, including two in Serie A, overcoming Sassuolo and Cagliari.

Another win could be in store this weekend as they meet newcomers Cremonese at San Siro.

With the international break around the corner, three points in this fixture will be crucial to maintain a feel-good factor.
