According to Gianluca Di Marzio, former Leeds United loanee Djed Spence is being targeted by 2025/26 Serie A champions Inter Milan after a €30 million move for Union Saint-Gilloise’s Anan Khalaili collapsed following a failed medical.

Meanwhile, The Athletic reported last week that Everton are also interested as they seek a replacement for Seamus Coleman, who left when his contract expired this summer. Any move is expected to be costly given his recent form.

The full-back’s summer 2023 loan from Tottenham Hotspur brought only seven appearances, with Leeds activating a January break clause during the 49ers Enterprises era.

A six-month stint at Bologna also failed to catch light, but on returning to Spurs he revived his career. Over the past two years he has played 55 Premier League games, starting 42, and has earned an England call-up for this summer’s World Cup.

He has often been introduced late on for England across the Atlantic, including in wins over Mexico and Norway. At the time, Daniel Farke explained the loan was ended, declined to criticise Spence, and highlighted his potential and a standout display against Ipswich.
