Leeds United will be monitoring their Premier League rivals, with Ipswich Town potentially braced for an early-summer setback involving manager Kieran McKenna.

According to TalkSPORT, Fulham are considering a move for the 40-year-old, who is viewed as a top target, with Marco Silva potentially heading to Benfica. The Ipswich boss is reportedly keen on the switch.

Ipswich want to retain him, but his contract is said to include an £8m release clause that Fulham are assessing. If activated, he would be free to leave Portman Road.

McKenna has been in charge since 2021, taking Ipswich from League One to the Premier League and pipping Daniel Farke’s Leeds to the Championship top two in 2023/24, before relegation in 2024/25.

Leeds finished 14th last season, but know how demanding a second campaign can be. The newly promoted trio of Coventry City, Ipswich and Hull City are likely to carry the relegation-favourites tag.

Losing McKenna would be a major blow for Ipswich before another fight to survive. Recent examples of Leeds and Sunderland highlighted the value of smart recruitment and managerial stability, with Farke riding autumn pressure to keep Leeds safe.
