Liverpool have struck a British record transfer deal worth £125m to bring in striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
According to various sources, including BBC Sport, a deal has been fully agreed between the two clubs and the Swede is due to have his medical on Monday ahead of signing a six-year contract.
The total fee could reportedly climb to £130m once add-ons are factored in.
Liverpool saw an initial £110m bid turned down in August, but are now on the verge of securing their primary target of the summer window.
The drawn-out pursuit of the 25-year-old is expected to conclude on deadline day, following Newcastle’s capture of Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart last week.
Earlier this summer, Liverpool broke their own club record by signing German playmaker Florian Wirtz for an upfront £100m, with another £16m possible in extras.
Isak’s move would surpass that figure. Combined with the arrivals of Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi and Giovanni Leoni, the spending would total around £416m before bonuses.
The Reds may not be finished either, as talks continue over a potential move for England defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
On the outgoing side, sales of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tyler Morton and Ben Doak have already generated roughly £190m in upfront income.
