Monday saw a long wait come to an end for Alphonso Davies as the full-back trained with his teammates for the first time since suffering his cruciate ligament injury in March. The Canada international spent around 30 minutes out on the pitch, taking part in some of the drills. Although not every teammate was there to welcome him back, given they were away for international duty, the 25-year-old was still clearly very happy about this big step forward in his recovery. “I can hardly wait to be out on the pitch with my teammates again, help them win games and fight for our goals,” Davies had said last month.
The good news continued with Jamal Musiala and Hiroki Ito also both making progress towards their respective returns. Musiala has been working on the pitch for the last three weeks following his broken leg and ankle at the Club World Cup last summer and has now started to introduce his favourite object into training again as he completed exercises with the ball on Monday.

Jamal Musiala got to work with the ball again on Monday.
Joined by a dozen players from the reserves, goalkeepers Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig and Sven Ulreich, the only senior outfield players in training on Monday were Sacha Boey and Ito. The latter has been partially integrated into team training for the last two weeks following his broken metatarsal in March and was finally able to complete the entire session again on Monday.

Hiroki Ito is now fully involved in Bayern training again.
