Telegraph journalist Matt Law is not a Chelsea fan, but he watches the team every week and was as annoyed as anyone about the recent way the players gave up on Liam Rosenior and sacrificed their season to get rid of him.

“Through their own petty minded selfishness, ridiculous crybaby behaviour, they’ve trashed their own league season,” Law said on the London is Blue podcast.

“If they don’t somehow get through the back door and back into the Champions League… one of the most stupid things about this, the most brainless part: their contracts are heavily dependent on qualifying for the Champions League. They are on massive incentive based contracts. So they’ve shot themselves in the foot financially. It’s insane.”

Chelsea players getting off easy because of disaster around them

We couldn’t agree more, and we think the players are really getting off lightly here because Liam Rosenior was so out of his depth and the sporting directors are such clowns. We won’t forget which players gave up on their season just because they wanted a new coach.

In other news…

Millie Bright has just announced her retirement from football after struggling to recover from an ankle injury picked up earlier in the season.

Chelsea have sent their first team on holiday for a few days because of the gap until Monday’s game against Nottingham Forest.
