Jorrel Hato had one of the most memorable moments of last night’s win over Tottenham with his amazing block tackle on James Maddison which kept the score at 2-1.

The defender has been one of the few players to come out of this season with some credit, and speaking to Football.London after the game he spoke about his development this year and the squad’s excitement for next year with Xabi Alonso in charge.

“The first couple of months [after signing] weren’t easy, it was a difficult time as a player,” said Hato.

“But in the last couple of months, I’ve felt more myself and I’m showing the quality I showed at Ajax. I think I’ve improved a lot and my confidence is growing now too.”

“I think Chelsea made a good decision to get Xabi Alonso. I’m excited, I knew him as a player and watched him growing up at Liverpool and Real Madrid.”

We can’t wait to see how the 20 year old develops with a top coach in charge.
