Spanish midfielder Julia Bartel has signed for Juventus. The 22-year-old joins the Bianconere following her spell in Liga F with Atletico Madrid.
She will wear the no.14 shirt and has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until 30 June 2029.
Born in Castellbisbal on 18 May, 2004, Julia came through the youth ranks at Espanyol and Barcelona. It was with the Blaugrana that she completed most of her youth development, culminating in her first-team debut in June 2021, at just over 17 years of age.
Bartel then went on to play for Chelsea, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid. Last season in Liga F, she enjoyed regular playing time in the starting line-up for Atletico.
A dynamic midfielder with a keen understanding of the game, Bartel combines excellent ball control, the ability to get into attacking positions and a commitment to defensive duties, making her a well-organised, all-round player who is ready to bring energy and quality to the Juventus Women's First Team squad.
Her career has also been marked by regular appearances for Spain’s youth teams, from the Under-16s through to the Under-23s. With the age-capped national teams, she won two Under-19 European Championships and one Under-20 World Cup, whilst with Barcelona she added to her honours by winning Liga F and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Welcome to Juventus, Julia!
