Julian Alvarez reciprocates Barcelona star Pedri’s admiration | OneFootball

Barcelona star Pedri recently gave his opinion on the possibility of Julian Alvarez joining the club, and the Spanish midfielder was full of praise for him. Interestingly, however, it seems that the admiration is reciprocated by the Argentinian forward as well.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the player was asked to name the best player that came to his mind according to specific countries during a relaxed interview with Argentine Youtuber Davoo Xeneize back in February of this year.

When the Spanish flag came up, the Argentinian forward did not even hesitate to name Pedri as the best player from that particular country, despite the fact that names like Lamine Yamal and Rodri could have been said as well:

“I’m going to pick Pedri.”

In fact, the player said the name with no hesitation whatsoever. Even when offered the chance to reconsider his answer, Alvarez was more than happy to put emphasis on his response even further:

“No. For me, Pedri is one of the best players in the world.”

A lighthearted moment, but an endearing one nonetheless considering the admiration that Pedri holds for him as well. Both players have already come up against each other on several occasions in the past, and it seems clear enough that they both appreciate each other’s quality.

Interestingly, however, Pedri is not the only player to praise Alvarez or comment on the possibility of him joining the club this summer. Previously, Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi also gave his verdict on the matter and spoke about how it is to face the striker and whether or not he would be welcome at the club.
