Junior packs Flamengo and Brazil shirts for World Cup swaps | OneFootball

Maestro Junior, the Flamengo great and former Brazil international, is in the United States covering the World Cup with a simple plan to connect with fans. According to Coluna Do Fla, he is ready to swap shirts on the streets and carries kit for instant exchanges.

In his backpack are a replica of Brazil’s 1982 World Cup shirt and a Flamengo jersey, a commemorative model marking the club’s Brasileirão pentacampeonato in 1992. The ex-left back was one of the standouts that year, scoring a free-kick against Botafogo in the final.

He keeps the bag close in case he bumps into someone wearing a striking national team shirt, for example Norway, and is happy to trade. He also carries black and white markers so he can sign light or dark shirts with ease.

Junior has been hired by Grupo Globo as a pundit during the tournament. He will be on the broadcast for Brazil v Morocco on Saturday 13 at 19:00, Brasília time, in Boston.

For the 1982 maestro, the World Cup is a chance for cultural exchange, and a Brazil or Mengão shirt could be his calling card with international supporters.
