Juventude have agreed a loan for Paraguayan centre-forward Luis Amarilla from Cerro Porteño until the end of the season. The club also moved to ease fears over Mandaca’s immediate future.
According to Globo.com, football executive Lucas Andrino confirmed the deal after the win over Cuiabá at Alfredo Jaconi. With the window open until 11 September, he said the club are still active but not desperate. The report also notes that Grêmio have said they have an agreement with Mandaca for 2027 and had sought an early release.
Amarilla, 30, becomes the third arrival this window, joining Lucas Alves, who was named in the squad, and Léo Jabá, who can only play from nine August because of a doping suspension.
Andrino said the squad looks balanced and that any further addition would likely be a winger with different attributes to Fábio Lima and Manu Castro, who both operate on the right. He framed the work as preparation before the window shuts.
He denied receiving an offer for right-back Raí Ramos and expressed optimism that midfielder Mandaca will stay until the end of the season. Mandaca is under contract until year end and can sign a pre-contract.
Juventude sit second in Série B on 32 points, six games unbeaten and yet to concede in that run. They visit Botafogo-SP on Thursday at 21:30 at the Arena Nicnet.
