Fran Garcia has played a more prominent role than expected for Real Madrid this season, largely due to the recurring injuries suffered by Ferland Mendy.

However, the 25-year-old academy product, who was re-signed by Los Blancos in 2023 after three years at Rayo Vallecano, has failed to make the most of his opportunities.

Garcia has made 42 appearances in all competitions, registering four assists in the process. But, his performances have not always been convincing and with Real Madrid looking for a new left-back, the Spaniard is staring at an uncertain future.

Juventus make enquiry

Now, Fichajes reports that despite some inconsistency in his performances, Fran Garcia has attracted interest from clubs outside Spain, with Juventus taking note of his situation.

The Bianconeri, potentially staring at the departure of Andrea Cambiaso in the upcoming summer transfer window, are considering bringing in the Real Madrid left-back on a loan deal.

Cambiaso is expected to move to the Premier League in the summer and Juve are preparing for the possibility by identifying players to replace him with Garcia emerging as a strong candidate.

Juventus are understood to value the 25-year-old’s pace, attacking intent, and defensive work rate and have asked about his situation.

Real Madrid could open doors for loan exit

Real Madrid are not ruling out a temporary exit for Garcia, especially if Mendy can finally overcome his fitness issues and the position is strengthened with another signing.

Given that Garcia has not been consistent enough, the Spanish capital giants recognise that a loan move in a less demanding environment than the Santiago Bernabeu could offer him more regular playing time and help him develop.

Meanwhile, Garcia’s camp is not ruling out a move, as long as it benefits all parties and guarantees him a significant role at his new club.

It is expected that talks might become more concrete in the coming weeks, depending on how Cambiaso’s future unfolds. Should Juventus finalise his departure, negotiations for the Real Madrid defender could accelerate quickly.
