The major event, attended by Gianluca Ferrero, President of Juventus, and Paolo Garimberti, President of the Juventus Museum, marks the start of a unique and exciting project.

For the first time, Juventus is dedicating a permanent and official space to those who, over the years, have made the black and white jersey legendary. The Hall of Fame is a tribute to those who, with the men's and women's first teams, have made history, and at the same time a bridge to the future: a place to relive emotions and pass on values.

JOHN ELKANN'S COMMENTS

"The Juventus Hall of Fame, which opens today in our Museum, is an extraordinary tribute to the greatness of our Club, its legendary players and a history that has united generations of Juventus fans around the world for over a century.

"It is a tribute to the purest passion for football, because every child, with a ball at their feet, imagines repeating the actions of their favourite player; every fan has their own champion. We cheer for a shirt and dream thanks to those who wear it and honour it."

GIANLUCA FERRERO'S COMMENTS

"Juventus means youth, and that is what represents us, in spirit, in initiative and in the pursuit of challenges. But Juventus has a great history, which lives on every day at the Juventus Museum. Ours is the story of the people who made the Club great, and whom we celebrate tonight with the Hall of Fame."

PAOLO GARIMBERTI'S COMMENTS

"The Juventus Museum has always been the home of our supporters, our present and our future. This is because the Museum's DNA is characterised by a constant pursuit of innovation, with new ideas and new initiatives. The Hall of Fame is the right way for us to celebrate Juventus' champions, because it goes beyond the numerical criteria that had previously inspired the section dedicated to “centenary” shirts, and is based on a meritocratic criterion, worthy of those who have made history."

A permanent room at the Museum, a virtual space on the internet

The heart of the initiative is a new permanent room inside the Juventus Museum, a space designed to preserve and celebrate the achievements of those who have written memorable pages in the history of Juventus. At the same time, the Hall of Fame will also be a special section of Juventus.com, where you can discover the champions featured there.

The criteria for admission

First of all, there is the basic requirement, which is that the player must no longer be active. In addition, at least one of the following requirements must be met. The player must have:

  • At least 350 appearances for Juventus
  • Won 15 or more trophies
  • Been a historic captain, with at least 70 appearances wearing the armband
  • Scored at least 100 goals for Juventus
  • Won the Ballon d'Or while playing for Juventus

The first fifty names

The inauguration saw the entry of the first fifty legendary players, in alphabetical order: Pietro Anastasi, Roberto Baggio, Andrea Barzagli, Roberto Bettega, Carlo Bigatto, Giampiero Boniperti, Leonardo Bonucci, Felice Borel II, Sergio Brio, Gianluigi Buffon, Antonio Cabrini, Fabio Cannavaro, Ernesto Castano, Franco Causio, John Charles, Giorgio Chiellini, Gianpiero Combi, Antonio Conte, Antonello Cuccureddu, Alessandro Del Piero, Teobaldo Depetrini, Ciro Ferrara, Giuseppe Furino, Guglielmo Gabetto, Sara Gama, Claudio Gentile, John Hansen, Gianfranco Leoncini, Claudio Marchisio, Francesco Morini, Federico Munerati, Pavel Nedved, Carlo Parola, Gianluca Pessotto, Michel Platini, Pietro Rava, Virginio Rosetta, Paolo Rossi, Sandro Salvadore, Gaetano Scirea, Omar Sivori, Alessio Tacchinardi, Stefano Tacconi, Marco Tardelli, David Trezeguet, Giovanni Varglien, Mario Varglien, Gianluca Vialli, Zinedine Zidane, Dino Zoff.

A living project

The Hall of Fame, of course, does not stop there. It will be a constantly evolving project. In the near future, it will be the fans themselves who choose new inductees, proposed from time to time by the Club, becoming an active part of this collective celebration.

And that's not all: the initiative will also be open to coaches.

With the Hall of Fame, we don't want to just look to the past, we want to further strengthen our bond with the Bianconeri fans and with those who have made our shirt great.
