Kelvin Amian at centre of booking error as Nantes face Le Havre and Lille | OneFootball

An administrative error over Kelvin Amian’s bookings has left Nantes exposed before Le Havre and Lille, and could rule the defender out of both games. The club are not at fault.

During the Coupe de France tie with Nice on 11 January, finished 1-1 then 3-5 on penalties, Amian committed a foul but Dehmaine Tabibou was recorded as booked. Nantes’ team manager repeatedly raised it with the officials and the match sheet was not corrected, and days later the authorities told the club the caution belonged to Tabibou. The LFP disciplinary commission later accepted it should have been Amian and said he is suspended for one match.

His fifth booking dates to the 0-1 defeat to Lyon on seven February. In an ideal scenario he would have served the ban against Le Havre on Sunday 22 February at 17:15. Instead, the suspension takes effect from Wednesday 25 February 2026.

Le Havre could attempt to exploit the confusion by lodging a protest if Amian is selected on Sunday. Nantes are in a bind, the chance of losing any case appears small but not nonexistent, and they would rather avoid a dispute.

Amian will also certainly miss the trip to Lille on one March. As a result, Nantes could be without him for two matches rather than one.
