Kompany criticises versatile Bayern youngster | OneFootball

According to BuLi News, Vincent Kompany has rejected Tom Bischof’s take on Bayern’s recent defensive problems, pushing back on the youngster’s analysis.

Bayern did keep a clean sheet on Saturday, although Jonas Urbig made multiple first-half saves in a narrow win over Wolfsburg.

The 20-year-old German U21 international said the basics had slipped and, after watching from the stands during his injury lay-off, felt Bayern’s counter-press immediately after losing the ball had been missing.

Kompany responded that he did not agree, arguing the player erred in the interview and that you cannot counter-press repeatedly if possession is being surrendered too quickly, adding the issue is not the intent to press.

He added he would speak to Bischof and suggested the youngster might view it the same way in a few years.
