The start of this 2025-26 season has been quite difficult for FC Barcelona as they have been forced to play several games without some of their important players. Only in the last game against Celta Vigo, players like Raphinha, Pedri, Gavi, and Joan Garcia were all unavailable due to injuries.
Another player who has faced significant physical challenges this season is the winger Lamine Yamal, who has only lately seemed to be getting back to his best level. He scored one of the goals in the 4-2 win over Celta.
However, apparently, he is still not fully fit, and there is another controversy regarding his involvement in the Spanish national team for this international break. The youngster was called up for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Turkey, but as Mundo Deportivo has reported, he has now been released from the national team camp.
The winger was released because he underwent an invasive radiofrequency procedure on Monday morning. The national team camp was set to begin on the same day, and RFEF has expressed its ‘surprise and displeasure’ about this situation in a press release today.
The federation claims that its medical staff were not informed about the procedure beforehand and only learned about it at 10:40 p.m. on Monday. Nevertheless, the federation allowed the player to withdraw, prioritizing his well-being and safety.

Lamine Yamal is set to remain on the sidelines for 7-10 days after this procedure, and hopefully he will come back funny recovered for Barcelona when this international break ends.
