Landlady appeals for return of rare Leeds United flag stolen from city centre pub | OneFootball

A pub landlady has appealed for the return of a rare Leeds United flag featuring Stuart Dallas, stolen from the Moot Hall Arms in Leeds city centre at the start of June.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said officers were called to the venue on Mill Hill at about 10pm on Wednesday three June, and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or use https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/LiveChat quoting reference 13260312758.

The flag is one of only five produced in Dallas’s hometown, and was donated by a regular who travelled from Ireland. It had been displayed on the bar’s Wall of Greats, alongside memorabilia gathered by staff and customers over the years.

CCTV shows a man entering while the pub was open, saying he only wanted to check the cricket score. He then sat down, unclipped the flag, concealed it in his trousers and left. The footage has since been circulated as part of a police appeal to identify him.

For landlady Claire, the item cannot simply be replaced and the donor was devastated. She does not want a witch-hunt, with the focus on getting the flag back. The pub does a great deal for Leeds fans, the community and charity, and staff hope anyone who has seen the flag will return it.
