Lech Poznań are moving to keep Luis Palma permanently, a development that threatens Sevilla FC's attacking plans.
According to La Colina De Nervion, Lech have told Celtic they will activate the four million euro option. Talks between the clubs had reportedly broken down, obliging Lech to pay the clause within one week. After activation, the Honduras international would sign a deal until 2029.
Palma spent last season on loan in Poland from Celtic, who bought him in 2023. Unable to settle in Scotland, he hit form in the Ekstraklasa with 12 goals and 10 assists, vital in Poznań's title.
Sevilla had tracked the winger for some time and sensed an opening after negotiations stalled. Lech's swift response now appears to have closed that avenue.
With their Palma move fading, Sevilla will look at other options for a frontline reduced by the departures of Alexis Sánchez and Neal Maupay, which free salary and squad space.
Elsewhere, the club have already added Juan Iglesias and Arouna Sangante on free transfers to bolster defence. Goalkeeper remains a priority, with Diego Conde the leading candidate and Celta following him closely.
Further business will depend on exits, with Djibril Sow attracting strong Bundesliga interest and Juanlu Sánchez on SSC Nápoles' radar.
