Leeds United beat Crystal Palace 4-1 at Elland Road, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring twice, Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach adding the others.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds overpowered Palace physically, caused chaos at set pieces and controlled the contest, setting a bright festive tone for Daniel Farke's men.
Only Thomas Tuchel decides on England selection, so Calvert-Lewin can only control what he can. His brace made it six in five and his free-transfer impact is significant for Leeds.
Ampadu's long throws mattered and his overall display was full of physicality and class. It was his first Premier League goal and only his third for Leeds.
Brenden Aaronson earned a standing ovation when withdrawn in the second half. With his place debated pre kick-off, he responded, and Farke's call to start him ahead of Ao Tanaka worked.
The turnaround in form and fortunes under Farke has been dramatic and impressive.
For Palace, Oliver Glasner had highlighted their box defending in the build-up, yet Leeds bullied them from dead balls. He grew increasingly agitated and later accepted he erred by not stressing basics.
Off camera, Pascal Struijk, Jaka Bijol and Stach stitched together a slick warm-up passing move before Ampadu briefly felt a knock, then tried a single long throw. Fitness coach Chris Domogalla led applause for the Kop, while Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle handed jackets to mascots and the smallest offered a Leeds salute.
During play, Noah Okafor raged at his goalkeeper for delaying a counter, drawing a cold stare from Lucas Perri. Glasner rowed with the fourth official over a Jean-Philippe Mateta incident, then a similar coming together on Calvert-Lewin brought Leeds a free-kick, while Farke later berated his own side during a rare Palace attack.
As Dean Henderson received treatment, Calvert-Lewin and Domogalla chatted with the fourth official while the striker sought a fresh shirt. After full-time, Calvert-Lewin shared a moment with a groundsman then gave his shirt to an East Stand fan, Aaronson gifted his to a supporter with a US flag, the South Stand coaxed Calvert-Lewin into a wave with Pascal Struijk's help, and Okafor later visited the Palace dressing room with Aaronson to deliver shirts.
