Leeds United have set out fresh details on their Elland Road redevelopment, addressing South Stand arrangements during the proposed works.

The club said in a statement that away supporters will remain in the West Stand during the works and afterwards, if the project proceeds, and that all seating behind the South Stand goal will stay home only. The update shows the 49ers are listening to concerns about preserving the stand’s influence.

Leeds submitted plans to Leeds City Council in July to raise capacity from just under 38,000 to 53,000, amid a season-ticket waiting list of 26,000.

Supporters had feared an away relocation into the South Stand during construction. Away fans currently sit next to it in the West Stand corner.

A planning officer’s report has recommended approval, with a plans panel meeting scheduled for eight January. The club hopes to receive full approval after that.
