Gordon, a Welsh mountain pony from Leeds, has picked England to beat Norway in Saturday's World Cup quarter-final at 10pm UK time.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the pony, whose full name is Greendown Flash, shares a name and haircut with forward Anthony Gordon and belongs to Matthew Gawthorpe, who runs Leeds firm Landlord Direct Lets.
The family discovered his party trick last weekend, asking who would win between England and Mexico and getting a snort for England each time. They then set up buckets of feed with England and Norway flags, and Gordon repeatedly chose the England option.
Matthew said his wife Charlotte and daughters Florence and Mabel are backing the call, though he warned that Erling Haaland, born in Leeds, could be the one to spoil it.
Thomas Tuchel’s side beat co-hosts Mexico 3-2, coping with altitude, a raucous home crowd and Jarell Quansah’s red card early in the second half. The players collapsed on the pitch at full-time, and they now have a couple of days off before focus turns to the Miami quarter-final.
