Daniel Farke says Anton Stach will miss Leeds United’s trip to Bournemouth, with the head coach calling the midfielder’s comeback a matter of days, not weeks, and confirming Dan James has resumed team training.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds travel south on a run of three straight wins, including a first league victory at Old Trafford in 45 years, as they close in on Premier League safety.

Stach injured his ankle in an unpunished challenge during the FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham United and has been out of league action since. The initial view was a May return. Farke said the situation is day to day and he will not rush the German, adding he cannot yet say whether team training will come before the weekend and the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Joe Rodon had a similar but milder ankle problem. After missing the Manchester United game he returned from the bench in Saturday’s win over Wolves, with no setback.

James, who has endured an injury-hit season, has missed the last three games with an adductor strain. He is back with the group at Thorp Arch and needs successive sessions to regain sharpness. Farke indicated that everyone available for the Wolves match remains available for Wednesday.
